A day in the life Photography - Lifestyle sessions

I was recently inspired by a fellow photographer who specializes in Lifestyle Photography.  Lifestyle photography (also known as "a day in the life session") is about capturing unposed moments in life.  It is about telling a story and documenting a few candid moments in a family's life such as cooking dinner together, planting a garden, or riding bikes in the neighborhood.  It is about capturing true moments between family members as well as the little details such as a special cookie jar or child's art work in the background.  Lifestyle sessions are not staged and very candid and very real.  I have not explored this style if photography yet with my clients but an very intrigued by this beautiful style and hope to get to explore it much more.  At the very least I and am certain to be doing it more and more often with my own daughters.  Tonight Sergio and the girls cooked dinner together (meatloaf.)  Something so simple but something so sweet that I am very that I am glad to have memories of years from now...

Silliness - Lifestyle Candid Portraits

Before the daddy daughter dance lats night we had to scope out a cool spot to photograph Cliff and Payton so my 3 assistants and I went on a scouting mission and did an impromptu buddy shoot full of silliness and giggles.  I had one willing subject, one not so willing subject and one that went back and forth but managed to catch a bit of personality from each of my wild bunch.  LOL

Father Daughter Ball - Special Occasion Portraits

Tonight was the Father Daughter Dance at Miss Payton's school.  She so looked beautiful in her Cinderella Blue Dress and Daddy looked very handsome in his dress Blues.  We squeezed in a quick, but fabulous photo shoot to commemorate this very special occasion.  I just know they are going to have so much fun dancing the night away!

Children's themed photo shoots - Alice in Wonderland Fairytale

Last year I did an Alice in Wonderland Themed photoshoot with my youngest daughter Sammi.  I have a few of the images framed and displayed in my living room and have been wanting to get some of my oldest Ellie to hang with them.  We finally got around to it yesterday and did an impromptu session on the porch of my little red queen. I think she nailed it!  She is such a natural little model.  Love this girl so much!

I couldn't resist taking it a step further and adding a wee bit of magic....
A royal queen needs a royal throne after all...

When Sammi saw Ellie's fantasy portrait she wanted one too.  How could I saw no? :)
