Some sessions just hit different.
I’ve been lucky enough to photograph these two since Jake was just a newborn and Cole was three, and today I found myself hanging out with them again at 13 and 16 years old — after years of sessions, laughter, and watching them grow right before my lens. This isn’t a “13 years later” moment… it’s a we’ve-done-life-together-through-photos moment.
Jake and Cole are not only growing into amazing young men, they are also genuinely two of the funniest humans I know. Their sense of humor, the way they pick on each other, and the fun they have as a family makes every session feel more like hanging out than working. I truly enjoy every minute I get to spend with all four of them.
Families like this are the reason my heart feels so full. The lifetime clients — the ones who invite me back year after year and trust me with their memories — you mean more to me than you know.

Charlotte Family Photographer - Cuties on a cold day

This sweet family didn’t just win this photo session — they truly earned it by being one of the biggest fundraisers at this year’s Buddy Walk for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, and I was so honored to photograph them today.
I met them briefly at the walk, but getting to slow down and really spend time with them during our session made today even more special.
And can we just take a moment for these two little siblings?!
Absolutely adorable, full of personality, and completely heart-stealing.
Photographing a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old on a chilly day takes a little patience, a lot of flexibility, and a good sense of humor — and like all real life sessions with littles, there were ups, downs, and a whole lot of beautiful in-between moments. But those are always the sessions that end up being the most special, and the love in these images says everything.
I’m so excited to share just a small peek from today and hope this amazing mom and dad love their gallery as much as I loved capturing these moments for them. I can't wait to show them the rest! We have lots more!

Huntersville Family Session - Our Best session!

I’ve had the absolute joy of photographing this incredible family since their oldest was just 4 years old, and it has been such a privilege to watch them grow over the years. I look forward to every single session with them!
Their youngest, Hayden, was diagnosed with Schaaf-Yang Syndrome, and this family has gone above and beyond to contribute to research and raise awareness for this rare condition. They even host an annual fundraiser, Faith for Hayden, to support research and help improve the lives of children like her. Their dedication, love, and advocacy are truly inspiring.
I had heard that Hayden was surpassing expectations set by medical experts, but seeing her walking during our session literally brought me to tears. It’s a beautiful reminder of how much progress is possible when children are surrounded by such supportive, loving parents and family.
I am beyond excited to share there 1st sneak peek from our session—the energy, love, and joy in this session may just make it my favorite one yet (and we’ve had some pretty memorable sessions!). I am so grateful to this family for trusting me to capture their journey year after year.

Charlotte Family Photographer - Celebrating an amazing day!

This year, I had the honor of donating a photography gift certificate to my company’s huge breast cancer fundraiser, and I was beyond thrilled to find out the winners were the sweetest family—both of whom I used to work with in Charlotte!

 
 We finally met this weekend, and their session was an absolute dream. Their little girl Harper is beyond gorgeous, and while it’s so hard to pick favorites from the session, what I loved most was capturing the love and connection this family shares. Moments like these are truly what make my job so special—being able to freeze these precious memories for families to treasure forever is why I love what I do!

I’ll admit, I sometimes get a little anxious when I meet new clients — but the second I met this crew, all that disappeared. Within minutes we were laughing, joking, and having the best time together!
This was my first time photographing the V family, and it felt like hanging out with old friends. We were cracking up the whole session — and I think that joy really shines through.

The 28th Annual Greater Charlotte Buddy Walk | Kannapolis, NC

The 28th Annual Greater Charlotte Buddy Walk at the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers Ballpark was nothing short of incredible. From the moment the gates opened, the entire day was filled with joy, connection, and a community coming together to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome and the families who love them.

With over 80 teams in attendance, the ballpark was alive with color, music, laughter, and so many unforgettable moments. It’s hard to put into words just how special the day felt — but these images come close.

One of the most magical parts of the Buddy Walk is seeing the pure excitement on the kids’ faces. Whether they were dancing to the music, meeting their favorite heroes, or running the bases on their field, every moment was filled with pride and joy. Watching the kiddos round the bases — cheers echoing, smiles stretched ear to ear — may have been one of my favorite moments of the entire day.

A huge shoutout goes to the Be Your Own Hero Cosplayers, who brought so much heart to the event. Seeing children light up as superheroes came to life right in front of them was pure magic. The time, care, and joy you brought to every interaction meant more than words can say.

The energy of the day wouldn’t have been complete without DJ Eric Skidlin, who kept the music going and the smiles coming. From dancing teams to laughing kids, the joy was contagious from start to finish.

And then there’s the impact. Together, this incredible community raised $153,900 for the Greater Charlotte Buddy Walk. That number represents so much more than dollars — it reflects love, advocacy, inclusion, and the power of showing up for one another.

This event is a reminder of why inclusion matters, why community matters, and why capturing these moments year after year is such an honor. These photos aren’t just documentation — they’re memories, legacy, and proof of what’s possible when people come together with open hearts.

Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, cheered, danced, and made this day unforgettable.
