Lake Norman Family Photographer - What is a SnookyFamily?

SnookySmiles Photography was born almost seven years ago.  Over this time I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with so many wonderful Families.  One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is watching the families that I have grown to love as they grow and change over the years.  I affectionately like to call them my "snookyfamiles"  I would like to highlight one of my snookyfamiles today.  I have been with them since the maternity session of their 1st child and throughout his first year.  I was with them at the Birth of their second child as they welcomed a sweet baby girl to the world and have loved watching their little family grow through their family sessions since.  D Family it has been a wonderful trip so far and I look forward to the rest of our Journey together.  Thank you for choosing me to hall capture these memories with you  :)

Child Photographer - Davidson, Huntersville, Mooresville, Cornelius N.C.

This adorable little fella tagged along with the family when his brother and sister came over yesterday to get their head shots done for their upcoming pageants.  During a wardrobe change (and once while his brother was still having his turn)  I could not resist catching a few shots of him too.  He was so sweet and so little with such a BIG personality.  Loved him!  Oh, and the best part…  that hat is not a prop, it is his and he insists on wearing it or one of his other cool hats daily.  A two year old with style!  How awesome is that?!

Equestrian Photography - a girl, a horse and a spring day.

With this cold wintery weather I just want to snuggle by the fire and with a delicious cup of tea.  Today, is the last day of our winter break here at the Serrano home.  Tomorrow will will have to jump back into our normal crazy schedules.  In preparation I thought that a Spring Flashback would be in order.  :)  This is one session that I absolutely adored.  It was part of a special personal project I did in April to capture the special relationship between rider and horse.

Becky's getting Married!

Once upon a time I had a friend named Becky.  She was pretty awesome and had a sweet little girl named Baylee.  All was good.  But, then one day Becky moved from the wondrous land of Lake Norman all the way to a Village in the snow called Michigan.  All of her North Carolina friends were sad.  Last week our dear friends returned and brought with them the handsome prince Sir Rick, Becky's groom to be.  We planned to do some beautiful engagement portraits on the lake but Mother nature was not our friend (yes this was the same day that I photographed my wild boys.)   Rescheduling was not an option as they had to return to the land of snow so we improvised on the front porch.  To make matters worse what little light we had during the day had nearly vanished.  We would not be foiled!  We jacked up the camera's ISO and embraced the grain just inches from the rain (sorry I could not resist.) and captured a few memories of the day with out further delay (yup, rhymed again, so sorry.  LOL)  Becky, it was so great to see you and Bail and to meet Rick!  I hope you forgive me for missing girls night!  Love you babes, and congrats!!!  xoxo!

Indoor Child Photo Shoot Sherrills Ford - Rain Rain go away!

I was so looking forward to photographing my wild boys at the lakhouse! I had visions of them running along the dock and using some of the giant round helium balloons.  It was going to be great!  Mother Nature however, had other plans…  It rained, and rained, and rained some more on the day of our photo shoot.  Usually, I always reschedule when it rains but their mama is one of my best friends and we were planning on hanging out anyway… plus my boys were dressed and ready to go so we decided to come up with a plan B.  You know what? ….  It was perfect anyway.  Love my crazy little men!  :)
