Naila may be crying in the photo, but there is something so beautiful about this image. It shows her loving siblings — both still little themselves — gently comforting their baby sister. The care and connection between them speaks volumes and gave me all the feels.

Sometimes the most meaningful photos aren’t about perfect smiles, but about real moments… and this is one of them.

UPsides Calendar shoot at Sparrow Ranch on the Island

Our most recent UPsides calendar shoot for our 2019 calendar was pure magic.  My friend Rick Teal opened both his home (Sparrow Ranch) and his heart to my calendar families and myself and we had such an amazing day shooting on the little Lake Beach.  We even had my friends from Applebox Cinema's join us to do some behind the scenes and some interviews for a mini documentary for us.  I could not be more excited about the amazing people involved in this labor of love and thrilled to share some of our sneak peeks from the day!

Thrilled to welcome another UPsides Calendar Newbie.  This sweet little guy is Will and was sooooo good.  He is such a happy smiley little dude!  The hardest part of our shoot was not putting the camera down and just snuggling him the whole time!  Love him!

One of my favorite parts of doing the UPsides Calendar (and photography in general) is really getting to know the families of the children I photograph.  Since I first met Camille back in 2013 her mom and I became close friends as have Camille and I.  This spunky, wild, amazing girl is so much fun!  I am so impressed with how far she has come and what she can do.  This most recent shoot with her was such a piece of cake (Here mommy will attest to the fact that this was not always the case.  LOL)

Lake Normans Favorite Photographer

This little girl has a very special place in my heart.  Of all the children in our UPsides calendar she was the very 1st one that I ever photographed. In 2010 we were connected through the "Littlest Hero Project" for a Family session.  She was a teeny tiny little thing and I fell in love with her immediately.  Seven years later she is a wild child (see the post below of Kylie and my Sammi.  LOL) and so much fun.  Kylie you rock girl!  I love you!
